Luxor was originally developed for surface treatment in the dental and jewellery industry and has proven to be a very good alternative for honing and polishing cutting edges. Luxor pastes have a complex composition that includes different grain sizes. The grit sizes are therefore not strictly categorised according to FEPA/JIS/Micron but should be seen as a guide. It is important to use the paste grit sizes appropriately depending on the condition of the blade and cutting edge. Individual factors play a role here, and the working method also determines the result. When using the orange, grey and blue grits, you will achieve an excellent surface finish. For many applications, however, the white paste is also sufficient. Please only use one leather strop for each colour, as paste residues cannot be completely removed. It can also be used on polishing belts (e.g. cork) for belt sanders or buffing and polishing discs.
