It is a goniometer with blade locking. It allows for a calm study of the geometry of the approaches, micro approaches and descents.Two powerful magnets allow you to hold the blade to the goniometer. For versatility and compactness of design, it was decided to use a built-in 380mAh lithium battery (type:752035) with a charging board. The battery can be charged with any smartphone charger with micro USB connector. On the front panel there is a charging indicator: red light - charging, green - charged. Using a rechargeable battery allows you to simplify maintenance and save on power. The charging cable, as well as the charger itself, are not included.
Unlike previous versions of Hobby and Pro, the Master goniometer has two adjustments in its design: the first adjustment is the ability to move the cutting edge of the blade horizontally, which allows you to fine tune the beam regardless of the thickness and geometry of the blade. The second adjustment is to rotate the goniometer scale precisely around the cutting edge of the blade to get an accurate symmetrical pattern. To make the goniometer better and easier to handle, you no longer need to rotate the ring with both hands - there is now a notched handle on the front panel for this. The direction of rotation of the knob and the ring coincide, which is convenient purely logically. The handle for horizontal movement of the blade is also equipped with a notch.All elements of goniometer, except for the knobs, are made by 3D printing on photopolymer printer PROZEN XL 4K with the resolution of 50 microns! This made it possible to create design elements of any complexity without problems, which was simply unattainable with laser cutting. Now you can look at the readings calmly and thoughtfully, no need to "catch" the blade position to get a symmetrical picture on the scale. The range of horizontal blade movement is 10 mm. The range of scale rotation is 12 degrees. This is more than enough for any blade geometry and any reasonable thickness.
Two stoppers are used to fix the blade vertically, they are made in the single element of blade movement. Horizontal movement system of the blade is implemented on two rails with running screw that is supported by bearings, so the movement of the blade is easy and reliable.The goniometer scale is on a rotating wheel, in the center of which the cutting edge of the blade is located. Rotation of the scale is done by turning the knob on the front panel. The wheel itself rotates in its bearings on 4 bearings and does not touch the pads, so it has almost no friction. To protect the blade from scratches, it is recommended that pieces of duct tape or masking tape be glued to the magnets before measuring. Only two separate pieces are required. One large one will block the laser beam.
It is no longer necessary to keep the power button pressed while taking measurements. Just slide the sliding switch, which is located on the base of the angle meter and has a pointer to it on the front panel.Just don't forget to turn it off after taking measurements. The goniometer is very stable on the table, so you shouldn't have any problems using this device.
